Hubungan Self-Compassion dan Persepsi Cyber-Ostracism pada Mahasiswa Yang Aktif Menggunakan Media Sosial Instagram dan WhatsApp

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara self-compassion dan persepsi cyber-ostracism pada mahasiswa yang aktif menggunakan media sosial Instagram dan WhatsApp. Penelitian menggunakan desain kuantitatif non eksperimental dengan metode purposive sampling. Penelitian ini melibatkan 248 mahasiswa berusia 18–24 tahun. Pengukuran self-compassion dilakukan menggunakan Self-Compassion Scale versi bahasa Indonesia, dan persepsi cyber-ostracism diukur menggunakan Cyber-Ostracism Scale. Analisis data dilakukan dengan uji korelasi Spearman karena data tidak terdistribusi normal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya hubungan negatif yang signifikan antara self-compassion dan persepsi cyber-ostracism (rs = -0.664, p= 0.000 < 0.05), yang menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa dengan tingkat self-compassion lebih tinggi cenderung memiliki persepsi cyber-ostracism lebih rendah. Hasil uji beda mengindikasikan beberapa pola yang konsisten. Mahasiswa yang mulai menggunakan smartphone pada usia ≤ 10 tahun cenderung memiliki persepsi cyber-ostracism yang lebih tinggi. Selain itu, penggunaan media sosial dengan durasi kurang dari 2 jam per hari berkaitan dengan tingkat self-compassion yang lebih tinggi, sementara durasi penggunaan ≥ 5 jam per hari berkaitan dengan persepsi cyber-ostracism yang lebih tinggi. Temuan lainnya menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa yang telah memiliki akun media sosial selama lebih dari 3 tahun cenderung memiliki tingkat self-compassion yang lebih rendah, sekaligus menunjukkan persepsi cyber-ostracism yang lebih tinggi. Selanjutnya, hasil uji beda juga memperlihatkan bahwa mahasiswa semester 7 memiliki tingkat self-compassion yang lebih rendah, serta mahasiswa yang tinggal bersama orang tua menunjukkan persepsi cyber-ostracism yang lebih tinggi.
