Peran Meditasi dalam Menghadapi Tekanan dan Tantangan Kesehatan Mental di Era Modern

Kesehatan mental menjadi isu krusial di era modern yang ditandai oleh tekanan pekerjaan, tuntutan akademik, dan kecanduan teknologi. Meditasi telah terbukti efektif sebagai intervensi non-farmakologis, namun sebagian besar penelitian menekankan aspek medis-psikologis dengan pendekatan kuantitatif, sedangkan pemahaman mendalam tentang peran meditasi dalam menghadapi tantangan khas generasi muda Indonesia masih terbatas. Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi peran meditasi dalam mengelola tekanan mental melalui studi kasus kualitatif pada umat Buddha di Vihara Dhamma Citta Mempawah. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam dan observasi partisipan, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan model interaktif Miles & Huberman. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa meditasi efektif menurunkan stres, meningkatkan kesadaran diri, fokus, serta ketahanan mental. Kendala utama mencakup konsistensi praktik, distraksi teknologi, dan keterbatasan waktu. Implikasi penelitian menekankan pengembangan program meditasi yang adaptif terhadap kebutuhan generasi modern, baik dalam konteks pendidikan maupun komunitas keagamaan.
