Hubungan antara Self Esteem dengan Impostor Syndrome pada Mahasiswa Kedokteran Universitas Muhammadiyah Gorontalo

Mahasiswa kedokteran berada pada fase pendidikan yang memiliki tuntutan akademik tinggi, kompetisi yang ketat, serta tekanan untuk mempertahankan performa akademik secara konsisten. Kondisi tersebut dapat memunculkan berbagai tekanan psikologis, salah satunya impostor syndrome, yaitu kondisi ketika individu merasa dirinya tidak kompeten meskipun memiliki pencapaian akademik yang baik. Dalam menghadapi kondisi tersebut, faktor psikologis dalam diri individu menjadi hal yang penting, salah satunya adalah self-esteem. Self-esteem diyakini dapat membantu mahasiswa dalam menilai kemampuan diri secara positif, meningkatkan rasa percaya diri, serta mengurangi keraguan terhadap kemampuan akademik yang dimiliki. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui hubungan antara self-esteem dengan impostor syndrome pada mahasiswa Kedokteran Universitas Muhammadiyah Gorontalo. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan pendekatan korelasional dan desain cross-sectional. Responden penelitian berjumlah 89 mahasiswa yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dari populasi sebanyak 115 mahasiswa. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan Skala Coopersmith Self-Esteem Inventory (CSEI) dan Clance Impostor Phenomenon Scale (CIPS) yang diadaptasi oleh Nurhikmah (2019). Hasil uji reliabilitas menunjukkan bahwa variabel self-esteem memiliki nilai Cronbach’s Alpha sebesar 0.914 dan impostor syndrome sebesar 0.806 sehingga instrumen dinyatakan reliabel. Analisis data menggunakan Pearson Product Moment menunjukkan terdapat hubungan negatif dan signifikan antara self-esteem dengan impostor syndrome pada mahasiswa kedokteran. hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi self-esteem mahasiswa maka semakin rendah kecenderungan impostor syndrome yang dialami. Sebaliknya, mahasiswa dengan self-esteem rendah cenderung mengalami keraguan terhadap kemampuan diri, ketakutan dianggap tidak kompeten, serta kesulitan menerima keberhasilan akademik.
