Abstrak

Laporan peningkatan permasalahan kenakalan pada remaja menjadi permasalahan serius yang perlu diperhatikan. Pengetahuan orang tua tentang anak remaja menjadi faktor prediktor untuk meminimalisasi permasalahan ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi pengaruh antara parental knowledge dengan externalizing behavior. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional. Penelitian ini melibatkan 85 responden orang tua yang mempunyai anak usia 11-18 tahun berdomisili sekolah di wilayah Kelurahan Kelayan Dalam, sampel dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Alat ukur yang digunakan terdiri dari Parental Knowledge Scale yang telah dimodifikasi sesuai konteks orang tua dan Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat pengaruh parental knowledge terhadap externalizing behavior. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menambah literatur maupun wawasan dalam perkembangan penelitian psikologi.
